Kim Kardashian’s 13-year-old daughter, North West, has spoken openly about her love for Jesus and her desire to spread the gospel. Becky Hunter-Kelm reflects on the young star’s growing faith and why Christians should be praying for her as she navigates fame and the pressures of growing up in the spotlight.

Recently, North West chatted with her mother, Kim Kardashian, for an Interview Magazine article. Titled ‘Yo, Get Out My Room: North West, in Conversation With Her Mom’, the piece is light-hearted and fun, reminding me of a girls’ teen magazine back in the nineties.

North and Kim chat about favourite school subjects, artists, food and more. Then, about halfway through the interview, Kim asked North: ‘What do you do to help other people?’ And North replied: ‘Spread the gospel. Tell them about God, and how problems get solved if they follow his word and his way.’

Kim also asked North: ‘What was the best day of your life?’ North replied: ‘Maybe in Italy with Dad. It was just us and my siblings, and that’s when I really brought them close to god, because we had this house and there was these devil statues, and I was like, “Mm-mm, mm-mm, no, girl.” I was like, “We got to pray.” So then I taught Chi and Psalm and Saint how to pray. God really did his thing after.’

As I’ve followed new of North West over the years, her confidence, charisma and creative drive make it hard to believe she is only 13 years old (born on June 15, 2013, in Los Angeles, California). The first daughter of Kim Kardashian and Ye (Kanye West), she’s a musician and performer. From a film voice-over role in 2023’s PAW Patrol movie to her releasing her debut EP N0RTH4EVR in May 2026, North has been passionate about performing from a young age.

I remember being moved watching an episode of The Kardashians when North made her live-action debut as Simba at The Lion King 30th Anniversary Concert at the Hollywood Bowl in 2024 (season 6, episode 3). North was just 10 years old. Watching her perform in front of thousands at that tender age was quite astonishing.

I also remember really empathising with Kim, who, as a mother, expressed her concerns about the pressures of a performance career at such a young age.

I also remember really empathising with Kim, who, as a mother, expressed her concerns about the pressures of a performance career at such a young age. Kim revealed that North naturally loves being in the spotlight: ‘North loves it a little bit more than the rest. I hold her back. All she wants to do is forward-facing projects.’

I am sure the Hollywood industry can be brutal, and I’ve prayed that North would stay rooted in her faith through the ups and downs of her career and not grow up too fast.

North was baptised into Christianity in Jerusalem when she was 22 months old. She also grew up in her father Kanye’s controversial ‘Sunday Service’ era. These gospel worship events started in 2019, and North was involved in the worship and choir. Now she’s a teenager, and it’s exciting to see her own her faith publicly.

When her music project N0RTH4EVR began attracting attention, her style turned heads. Tokyo-gothic-inspired outfits, spikes, blue braids, teeth spikes and multiple (fake) hand piercings. On a social media livestream, a fan asked, ‘Do you love Jesus?’ North replied: ‘Of course I love Jesus. That’s my Lord and Saviour. People be thinking I’m dark and stuff, but I’m really not.’

‘You guys know I’m not on that demon stuff. I believe in Jesus. That’s how I came to show you guys I’m actually a light, not dark.’

Then, on a TikTok livestream with her mother, Kim Kardashian, on October 15, 2026, North responded to people calling her style ‘demonic’, saying: ‘You guys know I’m not on that demon stuff. I believe in Jesus. That’s how I came to show you guys I’m actually a light, not dark.’ Beneath all the make-up, and when the film directors, cameras and spotlights are stripped away, North is a young girl like any other. She is a child made in the image of God, and he loves her deeply.

Later on in the Interview Magazine article, Kim asked North: ‘What’s something you’d like to learn more about?’ North replied: ‘God.’ Let’s pray for North in this! It’s clear she has a solid foundation in Jesus, so let’s pray this deepens as she grows older, and that he becomes number one in her life despite all the fame, money and power the world will offer her.

I also pray for North’s protection amid the risks that can come with show business at such a young age. And let’s pray that North uses her voice, platform and position to spread the gospel and tell people about God. May many of her peers in this spiritually curious Generation Alpha turn their hearts towards their Father and come home to hi
