Happy Spring Harvest for those of you reading this at the well-loved Christian family festival, and, if you’re not, this issue might encourage you to consider it in the future!

For this issue I got to interview Jo Moir, secretly my new BFF and also the new head of Spring Harvest. Jo is ordained in the Salvation Army, a qualified midwife, and has been attending Spring Harvest for years with her family, which has her very well positioned for this new role.

On page 12, our deputy editor, Jemimah Wright, speaks with Shara Grylls, for a very special interview about her book, Never Stop Holding Hands, first self-published 25 years ago when she got married to Bear (in 2000). The 25th anniversary edition includes updates of the original collection of quotes on marital advice that initially came from friends and family, but now includes words of wisdom from familiar names, such as Gordon Ramsay, Miranda Hart and Matthew McConaughey.

We have a new writer for the Health Wise section, starting this month. Monique Thomas takes over from GP Becky Howie, and in her first column explains why listening to our bodies isn’t selfish but is an act of faith.

Remember, we love to hear from you! Send any feedback or comments on this issue to womanalive@premier.org.uk and if you first heard about Woman Alive at Spring Harvest, let us know!
