A message from Doll
As an author and avid reader, I love almost all things book-related and so it is with great pleasure that I introduce you all – and especially our new readers – to our annual book issue!
This issue contains all your usual favourite columnists and features, with the added bonus of a reader special focused on books. The Woman Alive Book Club is a community group on Facebook that has been growing and thriving for over a decade and if you are a member of Woman Alive (paying for the magazine subscription), you have instant access to this private group. In each issue of the magazine, host Claire Musters interviews an author about a recent book release, and they share the three books that have had significant impact on their life (page 25 in this issue). Reading is so key to our understanding – and enjoyment – of the world around us but many people say they have little time to read. Might a little competition help? Turn to page 24 to see Claire’s 2025 Book Bingo to challenge your reading habits this summer. Don’t have time to complete it in two months? Spread it across the whole year and share with your fellow readers in the Book Club community how you get on!
