Dolly Parton’s sister asked fans to pray for the ‘Queen of Country’

Writer Becky Hunter Kelm reflects on faith and sisterhood after Dolly Parton reassured fans of her good health, reminding us how prayer and family love can draw us closer to God.

Fans of the Queen of Country had their minds put at ease this week when Dolly Parton reassured them on camera she wasn’t seriously ill, after her sister took to Facebook to ask for prayer for her sister.

‘I’m not dying. I know lately everybody thinks that I’m sicker than I am. Do I look sick to you? I’m working hard.’

Dolly Parton is 79 years old, and despite recently having to pull out of a Dollywood event because of a kidney stone, she says she is in ‘good health, but always appreciates more prayer in her life.’
