In August 2021 I was absolutely frazzled and God encouraged and challenged me to both seek his way and walk in it (Jeremiah 6:16). My husband and I needed to get away and during a last-minute Google search for accommodation, Dunoon in Scotland came up. We booked, borrowed my dad’s car and went.

During lockdown we had started to track with the British Isles Council of Prophets: I felt I had found my tribe. During one broadcast, Emma Stark, leader of Glasgow Prophetic Centre, said that if you need to get trained in the prophetic, move to where the prophets are. (You can read our interview with Emma in the April 2022 issue of Woman Alive.) It felt like a moment of clarity: we should move to Glasgow. But, in reality, that seemed impossible.

My husband and I lived in London and enjoyed Saturday wanders along the Thames. For two or three years, we mused repeatedly over several things: my growing dissatisfaction with designing and constructing other people’s projects; my sense of being overdue with God-given images ; a lack of peace about staying in our church and the idea that we could live somewhere else.

After a couple of days on holiday in Dunoon, the Holy Spirit reminded me that the Glasgow Prophetic Centre was not too far away. We decided to visit. At the end of the service they offered prayer, we went forward and said nothing of our life. They prophesied specifically into each of the conversations my husband and I had been having. After returning to London, talking and praying with accountability partners, friends and family, and based on the principles of Proverbs 8:10 (“Choose my instruction instead of silver”) and faith that when Gods leads he provides, I resigned my job, our main income, and we left London.

We journeyed to Scotland from London visiting family en route. Each time I searched online for a home in Dunoon, the Holy Spirit told me to stop and to trust him to give us one when we needed it. Finally while staying with friends in Edinburgh, an email arrived: there was one apartment available – and it is the place we now call home.

So, we now live in Scotland: we’re part of a dynamic body of believers; I’m being trained and growing in the prophetic; and I’m making art!  We continue to be challenged to live a Bible-normal lifestyle: to perceive his present revealed truth and to walk in it (Psalm 86:11). It’s incredible!
