Every month we consider what themes and events might be celebrated in the UK so that we can publish content that aligns with what you are already engaging in. In October, three things feel particularly aligned to me: Black History Month, National Adoption Week and Baby Loss Awareness Week. The first is obvious, the second because I am passionate about seeing children out of ‘social care’ and into safe homes and the final because my daughter died at just a few hours old and I am often asked to talk about that baby loss experience.

Whether or not you are aware of these observation days, it’s likely you will be connected to someone who will be, whether through supporting others or personal affiliation. Woman Alive is the only UK-based magazine for all Christian women across the denominational, generational and cultural spectrum and so, in this print issue and online, we cover a wide range of content on these topics which permeate the lives of so many of our fellow sisters in Christ.
