A few years ago, I faced a challenging situation at one of my sons’ schools. After some reflection, I decided to write a letter, as it allowed me to clarify my thoughts and include everything that concerned me. The headmistress at the time was very supportive and said that I was my son’s advocate; if I didn’t advocate for him, who else would? The word advocate resonated with me then and still does today.
