A message from Doll

If we’re talking about things we love, is it cheesy to say one of mine is this magazine? I’ll say it anyway, because it’s true! It’s a joy to work with and learn from incredible women from a variety of spaces and places, sharing the common thread of God’s transformational love.
A few of our writers this issue speak beautifully about romantic relationships in a nod to Valentine’s Day. In her prayerful reflection, Sinead McLeod unpacks the meaning of the word ‘love’ and how we understand and apply it to ourselves and each other. On page 52, Hope Bonarcher openly considers how her own marital relationship has changed over the years with the addition of four children and a transatlantic house move.
And in the retelling of a story that genuinely made me cry, Rhiannon Goulding provides a much-needed wake-up call to the Church about the importance of letting people in and loving them unconditionally (p35).

I have my own love stories, and they include tales of both romance and friendship, but it has only been in recent years that I have truly known what it is to love – and be loved – unconditionally. Newsflash to no one but 30-year-old me: that kind of love comes only from the One who created us all.
